AICC Incharge of Goa Manickrao Thakare Allocates Responsibilities to Working Presidents

Panaji: In a significant step towards strengthening the organisational structure of the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee and ensuring effective coordination across various wings of the party, AICC Incharge for Goa, Shri Manikrao Thakare, has assigned specific responsibilities to senior office-bearers of the GPCC.

As per the office note issued on 11th June 2026, the following responsibilities have been entrusted:

  • Shri M.K. Shaikh, Working President, GPCC has been assigned charge of Administration and Organisation, with Shri Pradip Naik, General Secretary, PCC, attached to assist in the discharge of responsibilities.
  • Adv. Carlos Ferreira, Working President, GPCC has been entrusted with responsibility for North Goa and Mhadei District Congress Committee affairs, with Shri Virendra Sirodkar, Outgoing District President, attached to support the functioning.
  • Shri Altone D’Costa, Working President, GPCC has been assigned charge of South Goa and Khushavati District Congress Committee affairs, with Shri Subhash Phaldessai, Vice President, GPCC, attached to assist in organisational activities.
  • Shri Datta Naik, Treasurer, PCC has been entrusted with Finance-related responsibilities, with Shri James Andrade, Former Treasurer, PCC, attached to provide support and guidance.

The allocation of responsibilities is aimed at ensuring better organisational management, strengthening coordination between party units, enhancing grassroots engagement, and accelerating the party’s outreach programmes across Goa.

GPCC President Shri Girish Chodankar welcomed the initiative and expressed confidence that the collective experience and commitment of the assigned leaders will further energise the organisation and strengthen the Congress Party at every level.

The Congress Party remains committed to building a stronger, people-centric organisation capable of effectively addressing public concerns and providing a credible alternative to the people of Goa.
